Stephanie Marshall, MSW, MBA

Chief Operating Officer


Stephanie joined TEG in 2004 and leads our dynamic team of evaluation professionals. She is passionate about helping partners use data for continuous improvement to ensure program impact and success. Stephanie has over a decade of experience in grant development, grant management, and program evaluation with a focus on education.


Stephanie earned a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University, Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina, and BA from Emory University.

Melissa Page, PhD



Melissa leads a cross-functional team of evaluators and serves as lead evaluator on a number of evaluation projects. With over 20 years of experience, she specializes in teacher professional development, engaging youth in STEM activities, NSF, and partnerships of teachers and graduate students in K-12 classrooms.


Melissa graduated Summa Cum Laude from Grand Canyon University with a BS in Corporate Fitness and Wellness and Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona with a Master of Public Health. She earned a PhD from the University of Arizona in Family Studies and Human Development with an applied program planning and evaluation minor.

Christy Derrick, MPH



Christy has worked in the field of evaluation since 2000 and with TEG for over 10 years. She leads a cross-functional team of evaluators and serves as lead evaluator on a number of evaluation projects. Christy specializes in evaluations focused on magnet schools, teacher and school leader development, STEM, and postsecondary preparation.


Christy holds a BS in Psychology from Appalachian State University and a Master of Public Health from the University of South Carolina with specialization in Health Care Administration.

Karyl Askew, PhD



Karyl joined TEG in 2013. She has over 14 years of experience working alongside education professionals to administer rigorous educational program evaluations. Her evaluation expertise and experiences include formal and informal STEM education (spanning elementary to graduate school), school climate transformation, evaluation capacity building, and multicultural issues in evaluation.


Karyl holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Education (with specializations in educational psychology, measurement, and evaluation) from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Kathy Dowell, PhD



Kathy has over 20 years of experience designing, conducting, and managing partner-focused, participatory evaluations in education and human services. Her evaluation experiences include educational evaluations with a focus on STEM, socio-emotional strategies, youth career development, and college attainment.


Kathy earned a PhD in Policy Sciences with a concentration on Program Evaluation from the University of Maryland, a MA in Clinical Psychology from Loyola College, and a BS in Psychology from University of Maryland.

Cathi Snyder, PhD



Cathi has over 20 years of research, evaluation, and grant writing experience, specializing in the fields of education, substance abuse treatment, and mental health interventions. She designs multi-level, multi-method research studies to determine the validity of outcomes based on evidence-based programs and practices.


Cathi earned a PhD in Educational Psychology and Research from the University of South Carolina, an MA in Psychology with an emphasis on statistical analyses and research methodology from the University of Akron and a BS in Psychology from Michigan State University.

Olivia Stevenson, MS

Data Architect


Olivia leads our data collection, data management, and data analysis efforts. In collaboration with teams, she works to assure data is collected, secured, and analyzed effectively for all users. She participates in the design of research and evaluation projects by providing expertise on data analysis, data management, and computer software.


Olivia has earned a MS in Applied Statistics and Research Methods from University of Northern Colorado and a BS in Psychology from University of North Florida.

Rachael Spencer, MS



Rachael is a culturally responsive evaluation and research professional with more than 7 years of experience working on projects funded by the US government and international agencies. She specializes in early childhood initiatives and parent engagement.


Rachael received her Master of Public Administration from Columbia University, is a co-author of seven manuscripts published in scholarly peer-reviewed journals. She is currently pursuing a PhD. 

Mike DuBose, MSW

President and Owner

Mike founded TEG in 1988 and is owner and president of several other successful businesses all of which are driven by the purpose of creating opportunities to improve lives. Mike is passionate about helping other entrepreneurs and small business owners succeed, working with his church, and assisting local charities.


Mike graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Psychology and a Master in Social Work. He worked as an administrator for seven state agencies, two governors, and a private non-profit prior to forming his own businesses.



Jeff Lawson, MAcc

Chief Financial Officer and Director of Human Resources


Jeff has been with TEG for 5 years and provides administrative support to our team of dynamic evaluators. He also works collaboratively with partners on financial matters, procurement, and contracting.


A magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina, Jeff holds a Master degree in Accounting and Bachelor degrees in Finance and Accounting.

Ginny Byrd Porter, LMSW

Director of Development


Ginny specializes in building partner relationships and aligning evaluation services specific to individual partner needs. Ginny has 10 years of experience in grants development, grants management, evaluation, and education. She is passionate about helping partners use evaluation findings to support implementation.


Ginny graduated from Meredith College with a BS in Child Development and teaching licensures in B-K and K-6 education. She obtained a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina and is a Licensed Master Social Worker.
